A History
Saavik Birman Cattery was
established in Coffs Harbour, NSW, in 1991.
My first Birman, Nicsha
Alexis, a blue point, was soon joined by Nimmy Tourmaline, a seal point.
Not long afterwards I purchased my first stud cat, Metinka Charmer Shan.

Over the years I received a lot of
enjoyment and love from these cats and their progeny.
In 2000 I sought an outcross cat from
Gramar Birmans, and was rewarded with two very lovely cats - Gramar Kai
Xiang (chocolate point male) and Gramar Rhapsody's Angel (seal point
female). Their first mating resulted in the beautiful ACF AOE CCCA Ch
NSW BDGC QLD GDGC Saavik Bacardi, as pictured on my home page. Bacardi
(Princess Fatty Kitten) had many show successes, culminating in her
being the Best Birman in QICC in 2005, and also the Best Female Cat in
the Birman Cat Fanciers of Qld (BCFQ) for 2005.
In 2006 I again approached Gramar Birmans
seeking another outcross cat, and was entrusted with Gramar Hippie
Chick, a beautiful seal point girl who went on to be Best Female Kitten
in BCFQ in 2006, Best Birman Exhibit in QICC and Best Longhair Kitten in
QICC in 2006.

I moved to Brisbane in 2004. I am a
founding (and now life) member of Holiday Coast Cat Club Inc, a NSW
CFA-accredited steward, and now hold the position of President for
Queensland Independent Cat Council Inc. I am also a member of the Birman
Cat Fanciers of Qld Inc.
Saavik Birmans is a small cattery, where
all cats receive individual attention. Kittens are socialised in the
house before going to their new homes; they are wormed, vaccinated and
litter trained before they leave. A Saavik kitten will reward you with
many years of love and attention.
